About

The Strawbridge Story
In 1967, John and Florence Strawbridge built a 20′ X 50′ concrete inground pool. At the time, the only local place to buy pool related equipment and supplies was a plumbing and heating business located in Erie, PA. In 1968, the company in Erie convinced John and Florence to open a swimming pool business in Titusville. During the same time John owned and operated O’Shea Construction Company, a union business, so it was Florence who opened the pool business. She ran and worked at the business until 2008, when she passed away.
In 2003, Doug and Joy (Strawbridge) Strain took over the business and made many changes to the showrooms. Their first project involved putting grass in the front and joining the two buildings together with a showroom in the middle. They later built the spa and hot tub room from part of the storage room area. These expanded showroom areas allowed them to expand the available products.
Today, we continue to furnish and install inground and above ground swimming pools and spas, service equipment, offer a wide-range of chemicals/supplies, and perform water-testing.
